The mission of the Department of Neurology, University of Occupational and Environmental Health School of Medicine, Japan is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nervous system and to use that knowledge to reduce the burden of neurological and psychosomatic diseases. To accomplish this goal, we conduct clinical activities and basic, translational, and clinical research on the normal and diseased nervous system.
The department uses genetic, biochemical and cell biological approaches to explore the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative, psychosomatic and neuroinflammatory diseases and epileptic syndromes.
